   Why maintenance is needed

   The pump is low-maintenance, but every now and then you need to clean it or check the rotor for dirt or wear. Sometimes a problem can also occur, for example a drop in capacity.

   Prepare the pump

   • Make sure the pond pump is taken out of the pond
   • Make sure the power is switched off
   • Make sure the hoses are removed

   Detach the filter lid

   Once you've taken the pond pump out of the pond, disconnect it from the filter lid using the clips.

   Clean the pump and filter lid

   Remove the hose tails so you can properly clean the inside of the filter lid and the inside of the pump. Also check the pump housing, as dirt can build up here too.

   Check and clean the rotor

   • Check for dirt, such as small stones
   • Take out the rotor and check it for dirt and damage
   • Clean it if needed
   • If damaged: order a new rotor through the BluGarda web shop

   Reassemble the pump

   • First put the rotor back in
   • Then fit the o-ring properly around it, as it protects against dirt and water
   • Put the pump housing back on and make sure the inlet and outlet face the right direction

   Test the pump

   Put the hose tail back on, attach it firmly and test whether your pump is working properly again and whether the flow is back at the right capacity.
